Los Angeles, USA – In the wake of a serge of police officers being prosecuted for killing people while on duty, police unions across the country are encouraging their officers to enroll in acting lessons in case they are ever prosecuted for murder.
Dick Balsac, who represents the officers of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), says that these acting lessons should be a valuable tool in what he calls, “anti police prosecutions,” saying that fake crying or artificial sympathy displayed during a trial may be a good way to gain sympathy with a jury.
“Listen, we live in LA, the home of Hollywood. A lot of actors live here and there are a lot of places offering acting lessons. I think my cops should take some of those classes. If they’re ever in a situation where they kill someone ‘in self defense,’ they start crying to make it seem like they regret what they did, or act like it was an accident that has traumatized them. At the very least, they should take some lessons before a trial starts.”

When asked where he got the idea from, Balsac said he got the idea when he was watching the Kyle Rittenhouse trial where he watched the 18 year old accused of murder, cry, despite shedding no tears, during his account of the kills while testifying on stand.
“When I watched him (Kyle) cry like that, putting on that magnificent performance, hyperventilating, waving his hands around, shaking, I was in awe. I loved it. He was so convincing, so genuine. Nobody could tell he was faking it,” said Balsac. “That’s when I got the idea. My officers need to act like this if they get charged. It’ll only give them an advantage in a trial.”
Balsac said he has reached out to other police unions all over the country and they’re all on board with the idea as well. Some police unions are also asking cities and towns to increase their budgets so that police departments can fully cover the cost of the classes.
When asked if tax payers covering the cost of these lessons was an abuse of tax payers money, Balsac became visibly upset, raising his voice, saying, “It’s these bloody prosecutors that need to lay off cops. So a cop kills someone. Who cares? Things happen. Most of these guys are bad guys anyways. Police officers are heros, alright? You got that? They don’t deserve to go through the hell of a trial after they’ve ended someone’s life, rightly or wrongly. They’re cops for Christ’s sake.”
