New York, NY – Speaking under the condition of anonymity, several CNN producers came out this week and said that the Trump Town Hall was designed to be controversial and thus, was meant to have Trump steamroll the entire event.
One CNN producer said that Kaitlan Collins was intentionally chosen due to her soft natured approach to interviewing. This soft natured approach was chosen over other CNN talent that is thought to be more adversarial.
CNN organizers of the Town Hall also thought that because of Collin’s past experience at Fox News, Trump would more likely be receptive to her, as opposed to other CNN talent that haven’t been employed at a white supremacist propaganda outlet.
CNN is down in the dumps when it comes to ratings. The executives thought having Trump on would boost our ratings and bring in some much needed advertising dollars.

Ratings and advertising dollars were another concern for CNN. They reported a dramatic drop in ratings since Trump failed to win the 2020 election. Advertising has been down and there are rumors that the news outlet may not be able to afford talent like Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper for much longer.
