Jerusalem, Palestine – Israel marked Jerusalem Day, also known as Flag Day with mass celebrations of hate against Arabs and Muslims.
Thousands gathered on the streets of Israel’s self declared capital, marching through Muslim, Christian, and Jewish quarters of the historic city, chanting ‘death to Arabs’ and other violent and genocidal slogans.
Many videos flooded twitter with instances of Israelis harassing Palestinian Muslims and Christians, with little to no reaction from police or IDF soldiers.
Israeli government officials were thrilled at the hate hurled at the Palestinians.
We are thrilled that so many Israelis are loudly and proudly celebrating Israel’s flag and us as a country. We’re not concerned about violent language. These anti-Israeli people need to stop being so sensitive.
Ohad Tal – Israeli Government Official
When asked, how the language of the celebrating Israelis is different to what neo-Nazis and white supremacists chant, the official became visibly angry, pushing several members of the media, and accusing everyone of anti-Semitism.
US officials expressed concern for the celebrations, highlighting the extreme hate expressed at the celebrations, many being appalled at the behaviour of those celebrating. However, they vowed not to forward those concerns to Israel, citing their wish not to disappoint or engage the key ally in the region.
“We have not seen this level of hate among the Israeli population since the pogrom of March 2023,” said one US official under the condition of anonymity. “We cannot express our disappointment or outrage at Israeli officials. If we do, we may be obligated to give Israel an extra $1 billion in annual aid.”
